JOE MANNIX
White Flag

| This is a solid album from
a singer songwriter who has found his voice. It feels like Joe struck
a chord within himself and was able to follow that chord until it
developed into a fully realized sound. A sound that resembles, but
does not mirror, David Gray, Ron Sexsmith, and Bob Dylan. White
Flag is what a good album should sound like, a solid collection of
songs with tone and appeal that complement each other and flow with
a unique voice, emotional impact and substance. If
Mannix continues to release albums like this, he will undoubtedly
become a notable voice in music. I never complain
about more rootsy acoustic oriented confessionals that have a geasy
darker side. I give this album a MO-Yeah. I can't listen to Bruce
Springsteen all the time.
