| MANNIX, PACER, SKYBOLT SIX -- On the recent two-disc Come to California, Joe Mannix and his eponymous band bring back the concept album in a big and melodic way. Disc one takes place on the East Coast and disc two features West Coast adventures; both rely on an equal-parts mix of pop and roots-rock. (Word is that Joe also liked to do some monitor jumping.)
