| Niles Wine Bar-- Now Here's a double bill. Rosenthal, the Yankee-turned-Texan is building a loyal area following with his hip rock with a songwriter's soul. Mannix, fronted by singer, songwriter and guitarist Joe Mannix, is a roots-rock band from New York that's on the road with a new double CD, "Come to California." Mannix is also a painter and his songs, like his pictures, are vivid. The man uses words to sketch life with all it's rough edges and hard surfaces but also with enough hope to keep listeners from looking to leap. Pay attention and you'll be rewarded. Mannix opens at 9 p.m. |
