There's no slump in sight for NYC roots-rock/pop band Mannix. They've just released their sophomore effort, Come To California, and are currently touring the Southeast.

Come To California is a rock opera -- members prefer the term "rock drama" -- about obsessive love, conveyed in a series of seamlessly woven songs that show classic rock influences, including a McCartneyesque top note and a bouncy bouquet of '80s Brit pop, particularly in the lead vocals.
